Anna SHERMAN Obituary

Anna Marie Finnerty Sherman, age 92, made her heavenly ascension on Friday, July 2, 2021.  During her final hours, those who she loved dearly and who loved her the same, sat with her and played her favorite Elvis songs, sang her favorite hymns, told stories and just let her know everyone would be okay.

Anna was born in Pittsburgh on August 19, 1928 to parent Harold L and L. Marie (Fetterly) Finnerty. On September 10, 1944, her and her husband, Roger Sherman were married.  They shared 71 years of earthy marriage before Roger passed on June 13, 2016.

Anna worked in various positions throughout her life, but her love was being homemaker and raising her family.  She and Roger loved it so that they raised two daughters, two granddaughters, a great-grandson and had a significant influence in helping to raise her great-grandson Joshua and her great-great granddaughter Nicole.

Anna is survived by her daughters Bonnie (Louis) Wither of Tennessee, Cathy (Kevin) Putman of Lindley, NY.  Granddaughters Deanna Sherman and Christy (Randy) Fish of Elkland and Andrea (Tom) Klosek of Tennessee.  Great grandsons, Matthew (Rachel) Sherman and Joshua Sherman of Elkland and Great granddaughter Alice Klosek of Tennessee.  Her partner in crime and cherished great-great granddaughter Nicole Rae Sherman.  Her special and very loved niece Vicki VanHorn of Texas.

Anna was predeceased by her parents, her husband, her sister, Peg Crans, her favorite cousin Bill and her special Aunt Birdie. In her final few days, she talked about all of these special people and although was very sad to leave her earthly family – she was very happy she would be welcomed with open arms by Jesus and all of her special people that had previously passed.

Anna was very special to many people throughout her life and was known as “gram” to so many of her grandchildren’s and great grandchildren’s friends and those who came to the game room to hang out.  She loved them all and treated all of them as her own.

Anna loved to dance – especially to Elvis – so we all know that she is up in her heavenly paradise teaching Jesus the twist and reuniting with all the loved ones she held so dear to her and missed.

Per Anna’s wishes there will be no calling hours or public services.  The family will hold a private memorial and celebrate her life.  Arrangements are in care of Kenyon Funeral Home, Elkland.  www.kenyonfuneralhome.com.

She will be deeply missed by us and although we are all sad and hurting of her passing, we know she is in eternal paradise and will have no more pain.  We love you Gram !!!
