Obituary
Barbara Jane (Sherman) Potter, age 84 of Elkland entered into eternal rest on Sunday, September 17, 2023 at her home surrounded by family. Born June 26, 1939 to James Erwin Sherman and Blanche ). VanZile, she was the 9th of 13 children and a life-long resident of Elkland, living her entire life in the very home where she was born. Barbara was a wonderful soul inside and out, putting the care of everyone else first. She served as Tax Collector for the borough of Elkland for many years and was well known to all. She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Richard W. Potter; Sons, George of Osceola and Richard W. II of Elkland; daughter, Jennifer (Ryane) Rumsey of Osceola; a sister, Irene (Wellington) Patterson of Elkland; brothers, Bradley (Carole) Sherman of Morris and Larry Sherman of Knoxville; 9 grandchildren, Daniel, Ryane, Leigha, Lukais, Colton Potter, Augustus, Skylar, Abigail and Jeremiah; 10 great grandchildren, Jordan, Mason, Isabelle, Rylee, Carter McCall, Landon, Killian, Ava, Layne Rumsey and River Farrand and many nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are in care of Kenyon Funeral Home, Elkland. www.kenyonfuneralhome.com.
