Elizabeth Caffo Howe, age 89 of Elkland, PA passed away on November 16, 2021 at the Broad Acres Nursing Home in Wellsboro. Born August 30, 1932 in Westfield, PA, she was the daughter of the late Lewis P. and Gertrude (King) Caffo. Betty was married to Richard Howe for 58 years until he passed in 2013. Betty graduated from Mansfield University and retired from the Northern Tioga School District where she taught for 36 years. She was a member of St. Catherine’s Altar and Rosary Society and Lady Knights of Columbus. She enjoyed playing pinochle and babysitting her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Betty is survived by sons, Mark (Aurel) Howe of Osceola and Kevin (Yvonne) Howe of Westfield; a daughter, Paula Howe of Elkland; grandchildren, Krysta (Justin) Cevette, Benjamin (MacKenzie), Travis (Christie) and Gavin (Andi) Howe; seven great grandchildren, Callen and Kennadi Cevette, Risley, Pryor, Brynlie, Colson and Bryson Howe; brother, Lewis (Rosemary) Caffo of Canandaigua, NY; sister in law, Joan (Joe) Orth of Winston-Salem, NC; brother in law, Willard Latshaw of Millville, PA and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard and a son, Michael Scott Howe. A funeral mass will be held on Saturday, 10:00 AM at the St. Thomas Catholic Church, Elkland with Father Joseph Mosley officiating. Burial will be in Champlin Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions in Betty’s honor may be made to the Northern Tier Recreation Authority, PO Box 143, Knoxville, PA 16928.
