Helen Elizabeth Foster (known as Daisy to her close family) of Tioga, went to be with her Lord and Savior on January 9, 2022, after a brief stay at Broad Acres Nursing Center in Wellsboro. She was born July 9, 1937 in Wellsville, NY, daughter of the late Raymond and E. Marjorie (Thompson) Burkett. Helen was married to Richard Foster for 63 years. Helen had a giving heart and a strong faith in God from a small child and loved being a wife, mother and “MamMam”. She loved history and poetry and could still recite the Lincoln’s Gettysburg Address. She was employed by Commonwealth Bank for many years and after retirement, she accepted a position at Dunham’s Department store where she was still employed full-time until her sudden illness four weeks ago. She so enjoyed her employers, her co-workers and her customers, many of whom she considered close friends. Helen is survived by her husband, Richard; daughter, Kimberly (Dennis) Johns of Wellsboro; five grandchildren, Christian, Brandon, Emily, Ashley and Elizabeth; five great-grandhchildren, Skye, Riah, Tyco, Teller and Tristan; her sister, Donna McGinnis of Wellsville, NY and a very special friend, Kevin Johns. She was preceded in death by her son, Timothy John Foster and a brother, Thomas Burkett. Helen would want us all to remember the words from Isaiah 40…but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles… A memorial service will be held at a later date. Arrangements are in care of Kenyon Funeral Home, Elkland. www.kenyonfuneralhome.com.
