John Ray Barley, age 47 of Middlebury passed unexpectedly on Sunday, November 12, 2023 at Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre. Born March 7, 1976 in Lancaster, he was the son of Carl Barley and Mary Jane (Jackson) Barley. He was an AWS certified welder and worked for over 20 years at Ward Manufacturing and most recently was employed at Siemens. John was a hard worker and a family man. He loved being home, mowing his lawn and gardening. John was a true gear head; he had a love for welding, machining parts, engines, International tractors, Chevy Silverado’s and highly enjoyed trains. He is survived by his wife, Jennifer (Cary) Barley; children, Skyler Cary and Nathan Barley; his mother, Mary Jane Allan; brother, James and Kimberly Barley; nephew, Blake Barley; mother in law, Elizabeth Costley; father in law, Dan Costley; brother in law, Trevor and Sam Cary and their daughters, McKenna and Arianna and sister in law, Amy and John Finkeldey and their daughter, Olivia. He was preceded in death by his father, Carl Barley and special Aunt Betty Jean Jackson. Per John’s wishes there will be no services at this time. There will be a trust set up for his children, please send memorial donations to the family c/o Jennifer Barley, 244 Cross Rd.
