John W. Mills

John W. Mills, age 80 of Avoca, NY passed away on Saturday, November 6, 2021 at his home. Born February 23, 1941 in Colesburg, PA he was the son of the late Adrian and Elsie (Simmons) Mills. John married Barbara Treat and they spent 58 loving years together. He enjoyed carpentry and woodworking, horses, hunting, singing and dancing. John also was a lifelong farmer, working on his own farm. John is survived by his loving wife, Barbara; daughter Darla Roote, Avoca, NY; son Douglas (Mary) Mills, Avoca, NY; 5 grandchildren Destiny (Andrew) Deterville, Danica Roote, William Roote, John (Mandi) Mills and Staci Mills; sister Dorothy (Wayne) Nelson, Shinglehouse, PA; brothers Jim (Jackie) Mills, Westfield, PA and Terrence (Sue) Mills, Ulysses, PA and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters, Wilma (Bob) Nelson and Anna (Bill) VanEtten.
