Juanita M. Allen

Juanita M. Allen, age 80 of Potter Brook passed away on Thursday, December 23, 2021 at Corning Hospital. Born October 25, 1941 in Wellsboro, she was the daughter of the late Arnold and Genevieve (Cary) Hurler. Juanita married Richard L. Allen and they shared 61 years together until his passing on September 14, 2021. She enjoyed crafts, loved Christmas time and all the Christmas lights and loved spending time with her daughters and granddaughters. She is survived by her daughters, Wanda and Pete Barbano of Addison, Sue and Scott Shutt of Lawrenceville and Jenny and Leroy Newcomb of Knoxville; granddaughters, Brittany and Brandy Newcomb; siblings, LaVerna Thompson of Mansfield, Gordie and Gloria Hurler of Knoxville, Glenn Hurler of Harrison Valley and Beverly and Doug Walker of Potter Brook and many nieces and nephews. Juanita was preceded in death by her husband, Dick and brothers, Mahlon and Stanley Hurler. Family will receive friends at Kenyon Funeral Home, 214 W. Main St. Elkland on Friday 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM. A funeral service will be held immediately following at 1:00 PM with Rev. Larry O’Dell officiating. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery.
