Karen Elaine Bicksler, age 74, passed away at her home in Troupsburg, NY, on May 26, 2022. Born on December 16, 194 7 in Lebanon, PA, she was the daughter of the late Martin N. and Marian L. (Gipe) Shuey. She graduated from Lebanon High School in 1965 and was a member of Salem Evangelical Lutheran Church in Lebanon. On April 23, 1966, she married Dean H. Bicksler and they shared almost 50 years of marriage until his passing on April 13, 2016. Moving from Lebanon, PA in I 1987, she and her husband established a dairy farm in Troupsburg, NY, which is now operated by their three sons. I As a Young girl, Karen enjoyed riding horses and won several awards at horse shows in and around Lebanon. Karen was a very social person and thoroughly enjoyed making her daily rounds with her acquaintances. One of her greatest joys was visiting with family and friends from Lebanon and she was a faithful subscriber to the Lebanon Valley News so she could stay current on happenings in her hometown. Karen loved all things that she found to be beautiful and collected many such items over her lifetime. Above all else, Karen found delight in her three boys and viewed being their mother as her greatest accomplishment. She is survived by her sons, Michael and Kerry, both of Troupsburg, NY, and Brian (Jessica) of Westfield, PA; her grandchildren, Kateri, Maria, and Isidore; her sisters, Kathy (Dennis) Gerlach of Lebanon, PA and Kay Shuey of Palmyra, PA; a brother Randy (Millsboro, DE) and his wife Gail, with whom she shared a deep friendship; two special cousins, Barbara Engle of Lebanon, PA and Beth West of Fredericksburg, PA; as well as her nephews, Christopher and Jonathon Gerlach. Family will receive friends at the Kenyon Funeral Home, 214 W. Main St., Elkland on Friday, June 3rd from 12:00 - 2:00 PM. A funeral service will be held immediately following at 2:00 PM with Father Joseph Mosley officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Knoxville, PA. www.kenyonfuneralhome.com.
