Obituary

Leon “Sonny” Perigo, Jr., age 78 of Elkland passed away on Friday, March 25, 2022 in Lawrenceville, PA. Born October 5, 1943 in Elkland, he was the son of the late Leon and Vivian (Carr) Perigo, Sr. Sonny served in the US Navy and retired in 2005 from Ingersoll Rand after 42 years of service. He was a member of the Wellsboro Moose Lodge and the CV Anglers Club. He enjoyed painting, woodworking, hunting, fishing, playing cards and car rides looking for wildlife. Sonny is survived by his wife, Sharon E. (Bush) Perigo; his children, Leon Eugene (Theresa) Perigo and their children, Cheyenne (Patrick) Sewell and LaRue Perigo, Kristi (Daryl) Derbyshire, Jody (Blaine) Hackett and their children, Erin (Nick) Cook and Taylor Hackett and Jim (Deb) Smith and their children, Laura (Ross) Thorne, Andy (Kate) Winters, Kerri (Mike) Mahnke and Travis (Kristen) Winters and many other grandchildren and great grandchildren; sisters, Larene (Arling) Rollins and Vivian (Donald) Stewart and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by sisters, Annanettie Inghram and Elizabeth J. Mattison. Family will receive friends at Kenyon Funeral Home, 214 W. Main St., Elkland on Tuesday, 4:00 – 6:00 PM. A funeral service will be held immediately following at 6:00 PM with Pastor Michael Denelsbeck officiating.
