Leona I. Reed

Leona I. Reed, age 94 formerly of Gillett passed away at her son’s home in Sayre, PA on Sunday, August 1, 2021.  Born December 14, 1926 in Corning, NY, she was one of 15 children to the late Raymond and Helen (Martin) Harrington. She married Wesley H. Reed and they shared 48 years together until his passing in 1994.  Leona was a seamstress for over 20 years at St. Joseph Hospital and she worked on the family farm.  She taught Bible and Sunday school at the Osceola Presbyterian Church for many years.  She enjoyed sewing, crocheting and knitting.  She is survived by her three sons, Gib and Smiley of Gillett, PA, Randy and Becky of Sayre and Rick and Arlene Reed of Sayre; 9 grandchildren and many great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, sisters, brothers, nieces, nephews and cousins.  Family will receive friends at the Kenyon Funeral Home, 214 W. Main St., Elkland on Friday, 1:00 – 2:00 PM.  A funeral service will be held immediately following at 2:00PM with Pastor Kermit Shrawder officiating.  Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery, Osceola.  www.kenyonfuneralhome.com
