Richard Gibney Obituary

Richard A. Gibney, age 84 of Lawrenceville passed away at home on Sunday, March 27, 2022 with his family by his side. Born January 9, 1938 in Brooklyn, NY, he was the son of the late Sylvester and Dorothy (Schlenner) Gibney. Richie worked for the Brooklyn Navy shipyard and retired from the Long Island USPS as a mail handler. He married Eleanor Eliane on August 9, 1959 and they shared 62 years together. He loved fishing and putting puzzles together but most of all he loved spending time with his family. Richie was a loving and wonderful husband and loving and protective father, who was loved by many. He is survived by his beloved wife, Eleanor; his children, Todd R. Gibney of Tucson, AZ, Corinne (Jeffrey) Wood of Tioga, PA and Jennifer Gibney of Buffalo, NY; grandchildren, Alexandria, Nicholas, Megan, Anthony, Vincent and Victor; seven great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and four brothers, Frank, Joseph, Thomas and Robert Gibney. Private family service.
