Sheldon P. Ward

Sheldon P. Ward, age 85 of Lindley, NY passed away on Thursday, November 24, 2022 at his home surrounded by loved ones. Born December 28, 1936 in Corning, NY, he was the son to the late Phillip and Derma (Huggins) Ward, Jr. Sheldon graduated Painted Post High School in 1956 and shortly after was inducted into the Corning Painted Post Hall of Fame. He worked for Charles Olin and Son’s as a contractor for 35 years. On June 1, 1963 Sheldon married Sheila Dawn Bartlett, spending 59 loving years together until his passing. Sheldon was a proud Veteran who served in the Army from 1960 to 1962. He enjoyed deer hunting, watching horse rodeos, mowing his lawn, and spending time with his family. Sheldon is survived by his loving wife, Sheila Ward of Lindley, NY; son, Gordon (Brenda) Ward of Lindley, NY; two grandsons, Sheldon F. Ward and Johnathan J. Ward, both of Osceola, PA; and nephew, Chris Peaslee of Lindley, NY. He was preceded in death by both his parents; sister, Lawana Peaslee; and brother-in-law, Gerald Peaslee.
