Shirley May Campbell, age 76 of Lawrenceville, PA passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 5, 2023 at the Corning Hospital. She was born July 18, 1947 in Osceola, PA and was a daughter to the late Austin “Dutch” and Gladys (Mortimer) Heitzenrater. Shirley worked at a few different jobs throughout her life; she started at her parent’s store - Dress Factory, went to Electric-Cord for a while, then she was a cook at Cuda’s Restaurant, following that she cleaned at the Penn York Hotel and lastly she was a cook at Prestons Market. She enjoyed animals, baking and cooking, spending time in her vegetable and flower gardens, canning, crocheting and sewing. Shirley also loved her family and friends tremendously, spending time with them whenever she had the chance. She is survived by her children: Deloris "Laurie" Hija, Stacey (Lawrence) McConnell and William “Billy” Campbell; grandchildren: Ashley (David) Varenkamp, Corey Glover, Justin McConnell, Austin Campbell, Alyssa and Tabytha Oberther; and siblings: Robert (Virginia) Heitzenrater and Linda Boice. Shirley was preceded in death by both her parents, sisters, Selena "Dean" Roe, Helen Shutt and Betty Warfel; and daughter, Marjorie Gladys Campbell. Family and friends are called to Kenyon Funeral Home, 214 W. Main St. Elkland, PA on Saturday, November 11, 2023 from 1:00 - 3:00 pm. A funeral service will be held immediately following at 3:00 pm. Shirley will be laid to rest in Fairview Cemetery at a later date. Memorial donations can be sent to Kenyon Funeral Home to help with the family during this time.
