Shirley Jane Lee

Shirley Jane Lee, age 99 of Knoxville passed away at the family farm on Thursday, March 16, 2023 surrounded by her loving family. Born October 5, 1923 in Westfield, PA, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Frances (Patterson) Haynes, Jr. She was a 1941 graduate of Westfield High School. Shirley married Joseph Lee Jr on July 5, 1946 and they celebrated 44 years together before his passing in Oct. 1990. Through the years, Shirley enjoyed helping on the family farm, cooking, baking, reading, plants and gardening, Hallmark movies, nightly rides and most of all her family. She was a silver star member of the Valley Grange #876 and was known for making their pies. She is survived by her son, Joseph (Debra) Lee, III; grandchildren, Stephanie and Joseph Lee, IV; sister, Ruth Allen and several nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends and neighbors. Shirley was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph; brothers, Douglas and Robert Haynes and nephews, Richard Keck and Robert Haynes, IV. Family will receive friends at Kenyon Funeral Home, 214 W Main St., Elkland on Monday, March 20th from 2:00 – 3:00 PM. A funeral service will be held immediately following at 3:00 PM. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Osceola.
