Susan Jane Bennett

Susan Jane Bennett, age 61 of Knoxville passed away on Thursday, July 22, 2021 at Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre.  Born May 16, 1960 in Blossburg, she was the daughter of the late Kenneth and Mary (Allen) Short.  Sue married Alan J. Bennett and they shared 42 years together and were foster parents for many years.  Sue enjoyed taking care of grandkids for everyone, camping and she loved to craft.  She was a member of the Facebook group, Yarn Buddies, where they would exchange gifts.  In the past she liked to volunteer at the Rod and Gun Club and the Valley Community Ambulance.  Sue is survived by her loving husband, Alan; children, Bobbie Jo and Tracy Thomas, Michelle Flynn, Echo (Clayton Madison) Bennett and Timothy Baltozer, all of Knoxville; grandchildren, Bradley, Kayla (Chaz Bunce) and Kameron Hackett, Dallas, Kirsten and Colby Thomas, Shay (Breanna) and Shyla Flynn and Ryan, Brock and Tru King;  great grandchildren, Natalie Williams, James, Isabella and Jackson Thomas; a brother, Scot Short of Sabinsville; two special friends, Shelly Cook and Deb Musto and many nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by four sons, Ryan, Brett, Neil and Kevin and a granddaughter, Rylee Thomas.  Family will receive friends at Kenyon Funeral Home, 214 W. Main St., Elkland on Monday, 5:00 – 7:00 PM.  A Funeral Service will be held immediately following at 7:00 PM with Rev. Larry O’Dell officiating.  www.kenyonfuneralhome.com.
