Viola N. Mortimer, age 90 of Knoxville, PA passed away on Friday, February 25, 2022 at Broad Acres Nursing Home in Wellsboro. Born March 26, 1931 in Osceola, she was the daughter of the late Odis and Ruth (Croft) Northrup. She married Robert C. Mortimer on October 16, 1953 and they shared 69 years together. She worked at the Electri-Cord in Westfield and retired from the Knoxville Library, where she was the Librarian, member of the book club and served on the Library board for many years. She was a member of the Knoxville Yoked Church, liked to bake, loved gardening and her flowers and was an avid reader. Viola is survived by her loving husband, Robert; her children, John and Colleen Mortimer of Knoxville, PA, Michele and Tom Anderson of Pottstown, PA and Katrina and Peter Croke of Coudersport; grandchildren, Christina Colegrove, Stephanie Katch, Megan Colegrove, Ashleigh Styer, McKayla Bodine and Bowen Croke; 10 great grandchildren; sister, Betty McConnell of South Hadley, MA; a niece, Vickie Wilson of Huntington, MA and several step siblings. A private family service will be held at a later date. Memorial donations may be made to the Knoxville Public Library, 112 E. Main St., Knoxville, PA 16928.
