William E. Treat Jr.

William E. Treat Jr., age 83 of Elkland, PA passed away on Thursday, July 14, 2022 at his home surrounded by his loved ones. Born on October 10, 1938 in Blossburg, PA, he was the son of the late William E. and Beatrice A. (Mitcheltree) Treat, Sr. William married Joyce Stewart-Potter and they spent 9 loving years together before his passing. He enjoyed solving crosswords, playing cards, fishing, and spending time outside taking care of his lawn. He was devoted to his faith as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses, spending many years as an Elder in several congregations. Bill also had been a part of the Westfield Little League, Bowling League and he was a Scouts Master for the Boy Scouts of America. He also spent a few years in the military as a Marine and he earned the rank, Sergeant. William is survived by his wife, Joyce Treat of Elkland, PA; daughters, Melanie R. Treat of Arizona and Valerie R. (Robert) George of Arizona; step-sons, Michael B. (Amy) Potter of Lawrenceville, PA and Jason K. (Bobbi Jo) Potter of Williamsport, PA; several step-grandchildren; half-sister, Gloria of Florida; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by both his parents; first wife, E. Kay Ianson; step-mother, Luella Guenup; sister, Beverly T. Williams; brothers, Wilbur S. Treat and Keith Treat; half-brother, David Treat; and nephew, Eric Williams.
